“Currently, a criminal case has been opened against the driver of a foreign car on the grounds of corpus delicti in accordance with Part 2 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of Russia (Violation of the rules of the road and the operation of vehicles),” the Interior Ministry said.

It is noted that the sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for up to seven years.

On the evening of June 8, an accident occurred on Smolenskaya Square in the center of Moscow, in which Mikhail Efremov became a participant. As a result of the accident, one person was injured.

Police detained the actor and sent for a medical examination for the presence of alcohol in the blood. Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that Efremov was intoxicated.
