Protests
The recent period organized protests in the city of Al-Bab, east of Aleppo, and in other areas, in Idlib and Aleppo countryside, to express a rejection of the increase in the price of bread.

Activists on the communication sites published photos crowding out large numbers of Syrians on ovens selling bread in the areas controlled by the regime and the opposition, fearing the continuation of the high price of this basic material.

International relief organizations and economists have warned of the implications of reaching basic food prices for unprecedented levels of 9 years ago, the price of a bag of bread has more than doubled in the past six months, according to the United Nations World Food Program.

In contrast, the local currency has lost three quarters of its value against the dollar since the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011, and the outbreak of the Corona virus has caused disturbances in the food distribution network.
