The strongest criticism came from the Christian Democrats Ebba Bush and the Swedish Democrats Jimmie Åkesson.

- They went on a really severe attack and rejected the government's pursuit of the corona strategy, rejected the testing and questioned how they had acted in the early phase of the crisis and believed it had contributed to the high death rates.

The debate was democratically important as it gave voters the opportunity to hear what the parties want to do, says Mats Knutson.

- It was also clarifying what the various parties want to do to get the economy on their feet - and what they absolutely do not want to do based on their ideological positions.
