In mid-May, the government promised 100,000 coronate tests a week, but last week only 36,500 tests were analyzed.

On June 5 a new message came - the government is investing an additional SEK 5.9 billion for corona testing and infection detection. Now anyone with suspected covid-19 should be able to be tested.

Anders W Jonsson (C) thinks that to get mass testing in place in Sweden you have to think outside the box.

- The reason why we do not get this in Sweden is that everything is about an infection protection law that is adapted to 50 cases of HIV and 100 cases of salmonella, and all of a sudden we stand here with 50 or 100,000 infected with a very serious virus disease . Then you have to think outside the box, says Anders W Jonsson and adds.

- It is good that we have got the money now, but if you want to make sure that there are really many people who get to test themselves, we must do just as in our neighboring countries, dare to think outside the box. That is, release the requirement that there should be a nurse or doctor involved. Give responsibility to the individual.

"Mobilize the whole population"

Should everyone, even those who do not feel symptoms, be able to go and test themselves?

- Just like in other countries, you need to get a mass testing permit where we can mobilize the entire population to really fight the whole virus.

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven says we do not know how it worked in other countries.

- If I go and test myself without symptoms and get a negative answer, well then I'm well now. But tomorrow or two days maybe I have symptoms, says Stefan Löfven.

- We should not take power from the healthcare system or put on increased administration. We tell regions and municipalities that you will be paid costs. And Sweden's municipalities say that they need to get a signal that the person being tested has symptoms, they can't cope with everyone being tested and we should listen to them.
