He added that the past three years have witnessed the death of 10 children in electric shock accidents, five children in mechanical accidents, and two cases of drowning in Jacuzzi tubs, and one in a washing machine.
He said that the total number of cases received by the Criminal Engineering Department during the past three years is 286 cases, of which 21% relate to accidents related to non-compliance with approved safety and security procedures, and 14% to accidents in mechanical devices and equipment and electric shock, while the percentage of door accidents accounted for 2.6% of Total communications. He emphasized that the Department of Criminal Engineering aims to analyze crime and reveal its causes using the best modern engineering methods and methods, as it includes a group of young men and women from the state who have engineering majors in the fields of civil engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
He called on members of the public to ensure that the specifications of devices and machines are in conformity with the requirements specified by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, with a view to ensuring the rights of the user in the event of a defect that does not conform to the approved specifications, and to review the user manual attached to the goods and the protective instructions for the devices, and use them for the purpose for which they were designed, In addition to ensuring periodic maintenance of doors in homes and water heaters, and keenness to bring in companies specialized in periodic and preventive maintenance work.
