"Knowledge": 4 cases of recovering school fees or part of it

Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority has identified four cases for recovering school fees or part of them, which are before the start of the school year if the student’s guardian pays the entire school fees, and decides to withdraw, as he is entitled to recover fees paid, except for registration or re-registration fees.

In the event that the student has been enrolled in the school for a period of two weeks or less, then a month is calculated from the value of the school fees, and in the event that the student has been registered in the school for a period of more than two weeks and a maximum month, as two months are calculated from the value of the school fees, and in the case of the student Registered in the school for more than a month, the value of the full semester is calculated, then the student's parent will recover the remaining fees.

This came in response to a question from parents of students on the Authority’s website about the possibility of refunding registration fees, because they are not sure that they will continue to study in the school in the coming September, in light of the Corona’s pandemic conditions and its effects.

The authority stated that the student’s guardian cannot recover the fees for re-enrolling his son in the private school, after paying it, unless he leaves Dubai before the start of the new school year, after showing the residence visa cancellation page in the emirate, or any other evidence of departure, or in If the student and his family travel outside the country, or any exceptional circumstances submitted to the authority for consideration. The authority stressed the need for the student’s guardian to pay re-registration fees only for his son, in case he wants to reserve a seat in the school for the next academic year, explaining that the payment of this insurance (seat reservation fees) is optional, except that if the student’s guardian refuses to pay him, It may cause his failure to guarantee the school a seat for his son or daughter in the coming academic year. The Authority confirmed that the school has the right to require the student’s parent to pay insurance to renew the registration at a value that does not exceed 5% or 500 dirhams (whichever is higher), provided that this amount is calculated from the school fees for the first semester.

Students start the exams at the end of the academic year on the 21st of this month with physics.
