On June 5, local time, the Mayor of African Descent in Washington DC, Muriel Bowser, ordered the 16th street leading to the White House to be painted in yellow characters "BLACK LIVES MATTER" (the life of a black man is also a life). The huge yellow letters span two blocks, occupy two lanes, and are particularly striking. The part of the 16th Street painted with slogans was also named "The life of a black man is also a life square". (Source: Reuters editor Zhou Jing)
