“Checkpoints at the entrance to Karelia stop their work. I signed a decree about this today, ”wrote the regional governor Arthur Parfenchikov in social networks.

He noted that the checkpoint had completed its task. According to him, the control of entry into the republic on highways is no longer effective, because almost all sectors of the economy have resumed work in Karelia, public and railway transport, air communication are operating.

Parfenchikov added that the removal of the checkpoint does not mean the abolition of the remaining requirements for people entering Karelia - to inform about their arrival on the Ministry of Health hotline and to stay on self-quarantine for 14 days.

In early May, Parfenchikov announced that starting May 15, service enterprises, including hairdressers and beauty salons, are opening in Karelia.
