The film about Dagestan, which became one of the regions most affected by coronavirus in Russia, explains why the republic turned out to be so vulnerable to COVID-19, what role centuries-old traditions played in this, and how local doctors are fighting the pandemic.

This episode shows how air ambulance evacuates newborns and elderly people from villages located in the mountains, how an outbreak of coronavirus occurred after a funeral in a small village, how a rural physician treated hundreds of patients with COVID-19 due to congestion in a district hospital.

The authors of the film talked with the doctors of the Republican Infectious Center in Makhachkala about how they treat coronavirus and how they manage aggravated diseases in elderly patients.

Most of the characters in the film recovered, but not all - during the installation it became known that three patients could not be saved.

Earlier, in the framework of the Epidemic project, a film was released about survivors after mechanical ventilation, which was shot in the Tver Regional Hospital.
