The world tennis N.1, Novak Djokovic, described as "extreme" and "impossible" the probable sanitary conditions imposed during the US Open, scheduled for late summer in New York, epicenter of the pandemic of coronavirus in the United States.

"Just yesterday, I had a telephone conversation with the leaders of world tennis, there was talk of the continuation of the season, mainly the US Open scheduled for the end of August, but we do not know if it will take place" , the 33-year-old player told Serbian TV Prva TV.

"The rules to be respected to be admitted there, to simply play, they are extreme," explained the triple winner of the event.

He also pointed out the restrictions "really impossible" concerning the framing and the entourage of the players. "We would not have access to Manhattan, we would have to sleep in hotels at the airport, to be tested two or three times a week."

"In addition, we could only bring one person to the club, which is really impossible. You need a trainer, then a physical trainer, then a physiotherapist," he added.

"All their suggestions are really rigorous, but I can understand that for financial reasons, due to already existing contracts, the organizers want the event to take place. We will see what will happen," concluded the Serb.
