05 June 2020 Auction disruption and corruption: these are the hypotheses of crime for which, in the past few hours, the Guardia di Finanza of Turin has searched around thirty targets between hospitals, Asl, companies and private homes.

In fact, a widespread "malpractice" was interrupted, consisting of rigged tenders and hypotheses of corruption within the Piedmontese health sector. The investigations, conducted by the financiers of the Turin group and coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office, led to the seizure of a lot of material and copious documentation in Turin and in the provinces of Alessandria and Novara. The operation, called "Molosso", currently involves 19 people and 5 companies under various investigations by the Turin Judicial Authority.

Serious, according to investigators, the hypotheses of crime against the suspects with consequent financial and economic damage to the entire National Health Service, to the benefit, in particular, of a Turin company and a Venetian multinational leader in the sector of product supply and medical equipment. During the transaction, the financiers also preventively seized current accounts attributable to bribes received by one of the Turin suspects. In the sights of the public prosecutor and of the men of the 1 metropolitan operational unit of the Turin Guardia di Finanza, also some suspicious tenders that may have been previously and specifically drawn up to favor the multinational company under investigation which, once the contract was awarded, could have benefit from millions of euros for the supply of gowns and uniforms for Piedmontese doctors and nurses. At the hospital in Alessandria, the investigations would have led to the identification of the corruption of a nursing coordinator who was a member of the commission for the invitation to tender under consideration for the supply of chemotherapy products and medical equipment, favoring a specific company.
