The start of the new school year promises to be a real headache for universities. During her visit to Brittany on Thursday, during which she met with directors of establishments, the Minister of Higher Education and Research Frédérique Vidal spoke of a “hybrid” return to school which will combine face-to-face courses and from a distance.

Management is currently concentrating on preparing for the start of the academic year. The decision was made to adjust the schedule, taking into account the strong organizational constraints weighing on the services.

But the organization is not easy to find for the universities which are currently working on the best recovery scenario. At Rennes 2, management has already decided. On her Twitter account, she has just announced that classes will not resume before the end of September or the beginning of October "in order to prepare for the start of the school year as calmly as possible".

"No impact on the academic year," promises management

The precise back-to-school calendar will be decided in the coming years on the occasion of a committee on training and university life to be held on June 12 and an exceptional board of directors on June 16. "Everything will be done so that this postponement does not affect the general organization of the 2020/2021 academic year," said the university.

The Villejean campus should still find a bit of activity in early September. Students will be able to come and get information to prepare for their return to school. The university also announces "the holding of certain specific educational activities".
