To prepare for Sunday's debate, preparations have been many, and many new routines have been introduced.

- The logistical challenge is mainly to make sure that everyone keeps a distance from each other. Both the party leaders and our staff, says Mikael Pettersson.

The studio décor has now been adapted to make this possible. The viewer will probably notice that it looks bolder and more scattered than usual in the studio.

- We hope they will hear from one end to the other, says program director Anders Holmberg.

No external media will be in place to ask questions before and after the debate, and audiences are not allowed in the studio either.

- I think that is very sad, but of course absolutely necessary, says Anders Holmberg.

Shorter and more program manager controlled

Usually, Agenda's party leadership debates are usually held in May and October in connection with the release of government budgets and shadow budgets. This year, however, the May debate was canceled.

- We realized that we could not implement it with the extraordinary crisis situation and with the additional budgets that were released here and there, says Mikael Pettersson.

Other things that differ from previous debates are that the format will be slightly shorter, from two hours to one and a half. The host may also ask more questions than usual.

- This time it's just a subject really; how has the pandemic affected Sweden. And we have made the right decision in healthcare and in other areas, ”says Anders Holmberg.
