  • Phase 2 of the de-escalation, what can be done
  • Phase 3. What can be done

Spain takes a giant leap in de-escalation. All the autonomous communities that have requested it will progress on stage on Monday and will continue to advance along the path that will end with the end of the restrictions for the summer. The Community of Madrid, the areas of Barcelona and Lleida , as well as the autonomy of Castilla y León go to Phase 2, while most of Spain enters Phase 3 and faces the last two weeks of the process.

Specifically, the autonomous regions of Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country, Navarra, La Rioja, Aragon, Extremadura, Murcia, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands fully access this Phase 3. Like Andalusia and various areas of Catalonia such as the High Pyrenees and Valle de Arán, Tierra del Ebro and Campo de Tarragona.

In Castilla-La Mancha the provinces of Cuenca and Guadalajara pass to this state while those of Toledo, Ciudad Real and Albacete will remain in Phase 2, where they only take a week. The same is also the case with the entire Valencian Community, which is why they had not even claimed an increase in phase from Health.

The autonomous city of Melilla also makes the leap to Phase 3 while Ceuta remains in Phase 2 and is very vigilant due to the outbreak that was discovered last week.

All these changes will be applicable from Monday June 8 and should last two weeks, at least until June 22.

Interprovincial mobility in the same autonomy

For those regions that are in Phase 3 it will involve very important news. The autonomous communities that request it, and that have the approval of the Government, will allow the mobility of their citizens between the different provinces of the same autonomous community.

In addition, as of Monday, the regional governments will be the competent authorities to address the remainder of the de-escalation and decide when and who will progress from phase to the last stage, the so-called "new normal", which brings with it the end of the prohibition of move between different autonomous communities.

As for Phase 2, which will be enjoyed by places like Madrid or Barcelona, it brings with it new features such as the elimination of time slots, the expansion of the number of people who can meet (from 10 to 15), visits to relatives in residences or the opening of beaches and swimming pools.
