He tied the businessman to a battery in his apartment ... where he beat and threatened him with a knife until he complied with the conditions of the accused, ”the statement said.

It is clarified that the attacker demanded that the kidnapped person change the delivery address of the cargo with medical masks in the amount of more than 31 million rubles. Then, when the goods arrived at the indicated place, the accomplices of the accused stole the goods and transported to Moscow for further sale.

“When the entrepreneur was freed, he immediately filed a crime with law enforcement. In hot pursuit, the suspect was detained, ”said the UK.

According to the agency, part of the stolen goods was seized, but more than half of the masks the attackers have already managed to sell.

“A 49-year-old man was charged with committing crimes under paragraphs. “C”, “g” part 2 of article 127 of the Criminal Code of Russia (unlawful deprivation of liberty by a person, committed with the use of violence and objects used as weapons), paragraph "b", part 2 of article 162 of the Criminal Code of Russia (robbery committed with the use of violence on an especially large scale), ”the statement said.

Earlier, the head of the Ural Customs Administration, Maxim Chmora, said that the department’s employees stopped the export of 27 tons of personal protective equipment. The cargo was detained on the border with Kazakhstan.
