The infection came to Bredäng a couple of weeks ago. There are several elderly homes in Värnamo municipality that have cases of corona, but Bredäng is severely affected, says Ulrika Gustafsson, who is the care manager.
- We have cases in several places but that all in one and the same department are affected, it is not elsewhere in the municipality, she says.
Thus, of ten infected residents in the department, three have died. The danger is not yet over, but the work of caring for the sick is ongoing. According to the head of care, access to protective equipment is good.
- Now it is important to create good care for those who are sick and to ensure that they receive good help even when they are recovering, says Ulrika Gustafsson.
Staff at Bredäng who work in the affected department have also been tested positive.
- It's about a handful of employees, but everyone is on the road to improvement and can probably return to work next week, says Ulrika Gustafsson.
