In just over a week, the municipal staff managed to scrape together porcelain and furniture from other units. The beds and the TV sets are new, but basically the rest have been gathered to decorate the abandoned accommodation. All to be ready if the coronas center should get hold of the elderly of the municipality.
Hallstahammar has so far been relatively spared from covid-19 in elderly care. Only two guardians have been confirmed infected and both have since been declared well.
- I believe in luck, but for example, we closed our elderly homes before the Public Health Authority asked us to do so. Then we were also out in good time with ordering protective equipment. It may have helped us to do so well, but then we can see how long it lasts, says Monika Selin.
