Two Buffalo Police officers , in New York State , have been suspended Thursday after a video showed how they shoved a 75-year-old man, who fell to the ground and became unconscious, during protests over the death of the African American George Floyd continued until their tenth night.

Video taken by a reporter for local public radio station WBFO shows the gray-haired man approaching a riot line line. One of the officers pushes him with the truncheon and the other with the hand. The man falls to the ground and a breaking sound is heard. Finally, blood begins to drip. The identity of the man is unknown.

"The video has deeply concerned me," Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said in a statement. "After days of peaceful protests and several bilateral meetings with the police and community representatives, what happened tonight is discouraging."

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation on social media as, one more night, protesters returned to the streets of major US cities to protest police brutality.

Floyd died in Minneapolis on May 25, after cop Derek Chauvin held his knee for nearly nine minutes pressing against his neck during an arrest.

The video in Buffalo also shows how the police line continues on its way after the fall of the man. Even the agent who pushed him at first with the truncheon bends over him, but another police officer dissuades him. You can hear someone asking for help. The public radio station has reported that two doctors appeared at the scene and took the wounded man in an ambulance.

Police, meanwhile, reported that a man had been injured after tripping and falling. However, after viewing the video, Buffalo Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood has ordered an investigation and suspended the two officers, the mayor said.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has stated on Twitter that he has spoken to Mayor Brown and has agreed that the officers involved should be suspended pending a formal investigation: "Police must enforce, DO NOT ABUSE, the law ", He has written.

The 75-year-old victim is stable under gravity at Erie County Hospital in Buffalo, Brown has reported.
