Nothing new under the sun at Puerta del Sol, seat of the regional government. The meetings held between Thursday and yesterday by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and her vice-president, Ignacio Aguado, with all the opposition groups, have come to witness the extreme distance that separates them, except in the case of Vox, whose spokesperson, Rocío Monasterio , has promised to give "stability" to the coalition Executive. After the meetings, Ayuso and Aguado proposed yesterday to create a Table for reconstruction in the Assembly.

The meetings took place after Aguado snubbed Ayuso when he met with opposition spokesmen on his own last Monday to discuss possible measures to tackle the region's reconstruction after the Covid-19 crisis. Ayuso had asked to sit down first to talk to Vox, to give him priority for having supported his Government, but finally Aguado chose to hold a meeting with everyone at the same time. Both Ayuso and the Vox leader avoided going. After the meeting, Aguado congratulated himself on showing public opinion that the rival parties are "capable" of sitting down to talk.

After that first contact, it was decided to hold a second one, with bilateral meetings with all the groups that began on Thursday, when it was the turn of Vox and the PSOE. The socialist leader, Ángel Gabilondo, criticized after the meeting the plan to reactivate 30 measures proposed by the regional government, a "list of short-range measures", according to him, for which he called for "redirecting" it to a study commission in Parliament.

Yesterday, the two leaders of the regional government met with the spokesmen for Más Madrid (Pablo G. Perpinyà) and Podemos (Isa Serra). The first threatened after the meeting of just over an hour to ask in the Chamber for the disapproval in 24 or 48 hours of the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, if the regional government "does not go out to give explanations" about hospital referral protocols from the residences, which deepened yesterday in the gap between the government partners.

"One of the big issues that has occupied the vast majority of time (of the meeting) has been that of nursing homes, " said the spokesman for Más Madrid, who described what happened as "absolutely serious".

Perpinyà asked the Madrid Executive to "not hinder" the commission of inquiry into residences proposed by left-wing opposition groups. On positive questions, the Más Madrid leader did highlight the meeting as "productive" and was open to giving "an opportunity for dialogue".

Regarding the plan proposed by both, he pointed out that it is "concise" and that "there are great differences" between his group's proposals for reconstruction and those of the Executive, and in this sense he pointed out that the greatest point of disagreement was on "inequality », Reports Efe.

For her part, the spokeswoman for Unidas Podemos-IU, Isa Serra, affirmed that they will present the reproach against Ruiz-Escudero for what happened in the residences. On the plan to rebuild Madrid, Serra said: "We need to strengthen public services, such as Health, Social Services and tax reform, which is what allows us to increase the budget for public services."

Late yesterday, in a joint statement, Ayuso and Aguado picked up the gauntlet of Gabilondo's petition and opened to open a Table in the Assembly to discuss the reconstruction of the region. In a statement they considered the meeting "constructive". "We see it essential to have all the points of view of the parties that are in the Madrid Assembly," they assured.
