Tuesday evening, the bodies of two young children and their mother were discovered in a private swimming pool, in a house, in Juvignac (Hérault). An investigation had been opened with the gendarmes of the Montpellier research section.

Autopsies indicate that the deaths result from a drowning, without other particularity, learned 20 Minutes from Fabrice Bélargent, the prosecutor of the Republic of Montpellier. Additional toxicological examinations are however planned.

Information opening

In an attempt to understand the circumstances in which these two children and their mother died, an opening of information to clarify the causes of death is planned.

Tuesday evening, the bodies of the victims had been discovered by the father of the family, as well as his partner. According to their reports, they took them out of the water and attempted resuscitation. Rescue workers could not do anything to save the three victims.

A first external examination of the bodies had not revealed any suspicious traces, and no particular trace of struggle or break-in had not been found, either.
