There was a tragedy that a pregnant mother elephant eats pineapples and loses her life.

On the 3rd of the local time, foreigners such as NDTV of India reported that a sad incident occurred on an elephant living in the forest of Kerala state in southwest India.

According to local forest official Mohan Krishnan, the mother elephant recently ate a pineapple she found while walking through a village near the forest in search of food. Some time later, something exploded in the mouth of the elephant, causing severe damage to the tongue and mouth, and a broken jawbone. It turns out that there was a lot of firecrackers in the pineapple.

The elephant, suffering and running around town, had to starve and eat nothing for nearly 20 days afterwards. Eventually, the elephant, who went into the river and soaked his nose and mouth in water, died while standing in the middle of the river. The same was true of the baby in the boat.
In India, fines of up to 25,000 rupees (approximately 400,000 won) or up to 7 years imprisonment are punished for those who catch or harm wild animals. However, it is still known that some locals commonly use killing fruits, such as those eaten by mother elephants, to chase wild boars that damage crops.

Forest mother Krishnan said, "The mother elephant ran around the town in pain, but she didn't hurt a single person, and she didn't destroy a house. It was a really good elephant."
As the story became known, shocked and angry citizens online mourned the death of elephants with posters and drawings. One netizen said, "Elephant made a mistake. It was a mistake to believe in humans."

Local authorities say they believe that pineapples were intentionally fed to kill elephants.
