As part of the "Safe Traffic Summer" campaign, Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to inspect the tires of their vehicles and ensure their safety and the absence of any damage or cracks that could cause severe traffic accidents during the summer period due to the rise in air temperatures.

Colonel Mohamed Salem Al-Shehhi, Director of the External Areas Traffic Department in the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in the Central Operations Sector, appealed to the drivers to use the items that match the specifications, and to ensure the suitability of the used tire, its measurement, the temperature borne by it, the appropriate load, the year of manufacture, and the appropriateness of their vehicle tires for long trips in cases of road travel.

He pointed out that the most prominent causes that lead to traffic accidents during the summer, which include the end of the validity of tires, a lack or increase in air pressure in them, overload and excessive use through cutting long distances, stressing the intensification of traffic control and the application of the law to violators within the strategic priority to make the roads safer.

Al-Shehhi stated that Abu Dhabi Police will implement an awareness campaign through its social media platforms and various media outlets entitled “Safe Summer Traffic Campaign”, as part of a pre-awareness awareness plan to enhance traffic safety and prevent accidents that occur due to the explosion of tires in the summer and include sending emails to government agencies and publishing traffic messages through the means Social Media.
