“And then there is a new program of cooperation with the IMF, where there is a draft memorandum in which many things are set out in such a way that, most likely, it seems to me that they will not be accepted either by Ukrainian society or the parliament,” Arahamia added.

According to him, Ukraine will have to conduct tough negotiations, which may not be successful.

“But this is a different program, this is a program for the future, there is time to discuss and, in general, to negotiate,” the deputy noted.

At the end of May, Ukraine and the IMF agreed at the working level to provide Kiev with a reserve loan for 18 months totaling $ 5 billion.

The head of the political council of the Ukrainian party “Opposition Platform - For Life” Viktor Medvedchuk expressed the opinion that the IMF will soon put new conditions for Kiev for further financing.

He noted that the IMF exercises direct external control of Ukraine with “cynical methods familiar to it.”

At the same time, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky compared the lack of IMF financing with a week of life without water.
