Tamsons believes that the government must take responsibility for its own authorities living up to the restrictions on crowds, congestion and the spread of infection following yesterday's degenerate demonstration.

"It is impossible to accept that we see large collections degenerate into violent riots with major consequences for, for example, security, care and traffic," Tamsons writes.

In a statement today, Mikael Damberg says he protects the right to demonstrate.

"It is an important democratic right to demonstrate," says Damberg.

But the interior minister also emphasizes that he prefers that anyone who wants to manifest against racism use digital media instead.

Is not about for or against racism

Tamsons is clear that this is not about being for or against racism.

- I and many with me have devoted much of our political commitment to marking against extremism and those who want to make a difference between people and people. You can do just fine without breaking any restrictions or engaging in threats, violence or harm.

Tamsons also writes that it now needs to "clarify how the permit was granted, with what basis and assessment was made based on prevailing situation and restrictions. In addition, how the relevant and responsible authorities were informed and acted ”.

Police: Can't deny anyone

Police told SVT News yesterday that one cannot refuse a demonstration.

"We cannot deny people because we think they will not be able to keep the restrictions," said Mats Eriksson, press spokesman at the police.

But Tamsons doesn't buy that argument.

- "The government governs the kingdom, I lead the government, we make the decisions," he let himself speak, Social Democrats party chairman Stefan Löfven, a few hours before the demonstration. Who ruled the kingdom yesterday? writes Kristoffer Tamsons (M), Traffic Region Council and Chairman of SL.
