On Thursday, the government presented a new initiative for sampling. This means that SEK 5.9 billion will be raised so that everyone with corona symptoms can test themselves free of charge, and that infection detection and antibody testing should be increased.

Director General of the Public Health Authority Johan Carlson says in Aktuellt that this should become a reality as early as 13 June.

- Not so that all people should be tested, but there should be an opportunity for everyone to get into the systems. That is the ambition that I think the regions should have, he says.

"Will be able to turn this up"

Sweden currently has about 36,000 tests a week, which is a good part of the government's target of 100,000 tests a week. The reason is that logistics has lagged behind in the regions. But as the spread of infection has slowed down and new billions have been pushed, the situation is now another, according to Johan Carlson.

- Our assessment is that it should be possible to turn this around in the whole country, but of course one must still prioritize health care, he says.
