In detail, the Department of Education and Knowledge obligated the families of students who wish to transfer their children to the home study system, to sign a pledge through which they acknowledge that they do not have the right to demand to re-register them again in a private school within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, when completing their classes in the home study system, Whether it is inside or outside the country - even if this system "home study" is authorized by accredited bodies.

For its part, the Department of Education and Knowledge clarified in its response to "Emirates Inquiries Today" that home education does not represent an educational system accredited in the emirate, and it is not provided by educational authorities or institutions accredited or licensed by the Department of Education and Knowledge; Consequently, there is no service in the Department of Education and Knowledge that allows this type of request to be received.
The department affirmed that with the decision to suspend schooling due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus, it took the necessary steps to activate the distance education system to ensure that all students continue to receive a high-quality education. Here, a distinction must be made between the accredited system of distance education and other non-accredited methods of education.
She noted that distance education is an accredited educational system within the United Arab Emirates, which has been applied starting from the date of March 22, 2020, and it targets all students in the state's private and government schools that follow formal education; This system was launched to ensure the continuity of education for all citizen students and residents within the state in light of the current conditions imposed by the repercussions of the crisis of Covid 19, providing services and educational offerings to students in modern technological methods and means commensurate with all the educational plans and various and various educational curricula approved by the Department of Education and Knowledge.


She pointed out that home education does not represent an approved educational system in the emirate, nor is it provided by educational or accredited bodies or institutions licensed by the Education and Knowledge Department, and therefore, students who follow formal educational institutions are physically enrolled in schools through the registration systems accredited to Educational bodies, and they will obtain certificates (academic year evaluation cards) at the end of their academic year from these schools through the distance learning system, the department will accept these certificates like the students of other Emirates schools who have finished studying through the same system.
