Inmates of the General Administration of Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai Police began conducting exams at the end of the current academic year remotely, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Dubai Educational Zone.

Examinations - under the supervision of the Department of Education and Training of Inmates - provide 15 inmates with the study system from homes, from the seventh grade to the eleventh grade, while the twelfth exams will be held later.

The director of the General Administration of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, Brigadier Ali Al-Shamali, said that this year’s exams come in exceptional circumstances, as the public administration considered that the end-of-school exams for the students be done remotely, in order to achieve physical spacing to prevent corona infection (Covid-19), and reduce Of its spread.

He added that the administration has opened the door for home education registration for inmates students at various educational levels, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Education and the Dubai Educational Zone, stressing the keenness of the Dubai Police General Command on humane treatment for inmates, and the consolidation of their social rights in helping them to integrate into society, to support themselves after the punishment period And spend the sentence imposed on them.

He explained that the role of punitive institutions is not limited to isolating the perpetrator from society, but rather includes reforming and qualifying him for an honorable social life, therefore, it has provided all capabilities for the inmate to exploit his energy through educational and training programs in many fields, including opening the door of study for those wishing to complete their academic stages.
