  China News Service, June 4 (Xinhua) According to the US Geological Survey website, at 9:32 on the 4th, Beijing time, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake occurred in California, USA, with a focal depth of 6.8 kilometers.

  There are no reports of casualties or property damage caused by the earthquake.

  In 2019, scientists from the California Institute of Technology published a research result in the journal Science, saying that the Garlock fault in California, USA, was observed to produce a magnitude 8.0 earthquake because of Ridgecrest in the same year. The earthquake destroyed the stability of nearby faults.

  In October of the same year, California released an earthquake warning application and encouraged all residents to download it as a precautionary measure. "There is an earthquake risk throughout the state," the application's website page wrote. "If the magnitude of the earthquake is large enough, the range of energy transmission will be far beyond most people's imagination."
