US President Donald Trump said yesterday he will mobilize all available military and police in the country to stop riots and looting.

"If the cities do not cooperate, I will use the US military and quickly solve the problem for them," the president said.

In order to allow the military to carry out police work, Trump is expected to use a law from the American Civil War, the so-called "Insurrection Act," which can be invoked under extreme conditions.

This is now being addressed by Defense Minister Mark Esper.

- I do not support that we invoke the Insurrection Act. "We are not in such a situation now," said Mark Esper at a press conference on Tuesday.
