US President Donald Trump denied, on Wednesday, that he was transferred to a safe haven in the White House during demonstrations in front of his external gates, stressing that he went to the place just to inspect it.

The "New York Times" reported that the protection agency transferred President Trump to the shelter on Friday evening during a demonstration in front of the White House.

"It is wrong information," Trump told Fox News.

He added: "It was during the day," explaining that he went to the place "two or three times" during the past days, but every time in order to check the place with a group of people.

Former US Vice President Dick Cheney was transferred to this safe haven after the September 11, 2001 attacks.

News of Trump's move to the shelter sparked widespread mockery on social media, and it appears that she contributed to his decision to go Monday to visit a church affected by the violence.
