“Based on materials from prosecutor’s inspections, criminal cases have been instituted under part 1 of article 254 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Land Damage”), Art. 246 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of environmental protection rules in the course of work), Art. 250 of the Criminal Code of Russia (water pollution), ”the statement said.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia took under special control the audit launched in connection with the oil spill in Norilsk.
