A heavy goods vehicle had an accident on the A11 motorway this Wednesday morning - VINCI AUTOROUTES

Normal traffic should not resume until mid-afternoon. A portion of the A11 motorway has been cut for several hours already, after a heavyweight lay on the tracks, near Angers.

The accident, which occurred this Wednesday shortly before 5 a.m., did not cause any serious injuries but caused major disturbances. According to Vinci Autoroutes, a mandatory exit has been set up at Saint Jean de Linières, in an attempt to regulate traffic.

Truck evacuation

On site, it was absolutely necessary to call a crane to evacuate the truck. Around midday, the lifting operations were still in progress.

"From Paris to Nantes, following the intervention of the emergency services and the Vinci Autoroutes teams, all of the lanes can be driven again," says Vinci. Pavement work must be carried out before the reopening of the highway in the other direction.
