It was a consensus board that made the decision to cancel this summer's big event in Växjö.

- We cannot implement it responsibly when it looks like it does in Växjö, Sweden and the world. We can aim forward instead, ”says Jesper Rosenlind, festival general for the Karl-Oscar days.

In normal cases, parts of the program are usually presented and the artists are presented during the spring.

- Because of the uncertainty, we have chosen not to do this this time.

Aims for next year

Växjö City cooperation jumped into the last. They have worked on it as if it were going to be a city party but now it is set.

- It wasn't entirely unexpected, it's just to like the situation. We'll have to take another year in a year.

There are no plans to create a digital variant.

- The city party is best performing live and it should be inclusive for everyone, says Jesper Rosenlind.
