Rescue services, police and ambulance were alerted to Tabergsån in Norrahammar where a person was pulled out of the water. An inanimate person was pulled from the water and later police confirmed that the person was dead.
Police are now investigating the circumstances of the death according to the routines one has when someone is found deceased outdoors under unclear circumstances. Therefore, the case is therefore classified as murder.
Police blocked off an area around the scene where the man was found and conducted a forensic examination.
"The barricade has been claimed there for some hours," says Monica Bergström, press spokeswoman at the police at 14 o'clock.
At 11am, police announced that they had identified the man, but that his relatives had not yet been notified.
