Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-hwa yesterday (3rd) talked with the foreign ministers of the United States, Australia, Brazil, India and Israel at a video conference to discuss international cooperation in corona19 response.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a meeting presided over by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, ministers shared the importance of close communication and coordination between countries to prevent the spread of Corona19 and achieve economic and social normalization simultaneously.

In addition, consultations were made on promoting human mobility between countries, coordinating response to pandemic, sharing information quickly and transparently, and international cooperation for economic recovery.

Minister Kang explains that Korea has made diplomatic efforts to effectively block the Corona 19 and make essential manpower transfers while opening the border in accordance with the principles of openness, transparency, and democracy, and to continue cooperation between countries to maintain this openness. The State Department also issued a press release on the day, saying, "Pompeio and others discussed the importance of continuing close cooperation to respond to Corona 19."
