Since the start of mass testing of people who have complaints that fit the coronavirus, 9,574 tests have been conducted at GGDs. Only 94 people have now received a positive result, reports the GGD GHOR on Wednesday.
The figures only refer to the people who are tested at their GGD. Since Monday 8.00, anyone with corona-related complaints can make an appointment to be tested.
Because of the huge crowds, because more than 320,000 calls were made on Monday, not everyone could be scheduled.
"Many more appointments were made on Tuesday than on Monday. The GGDs expect that the number of appointments that can be made daily will grow further during the week." In principle, the aim is to give everyone who has been tested results within 48 hours.
Sjaak de Gouw, portfolio holder for Infectious Disease Control at GGD GHOR, emphasized earlier that people should only call when they have complaints and not when they have general questions. "Before that, the number is 0800-1351."
The number for scheduling a corona test is 0800-1202. The call center is available from 08:00 to 20:00.
