Earlier, multiple videos showed that when Shavin arrested Freud, he kneeled on Freud's neck and other police officers knelt on his back.
An independent autopsy report stated that Freud’s death belonged to a homicide and died of “sustained pressure suffocation”. An autopsy revealed that Freud's neck and back were compressed, preventing blood from flowing to his brain. Freud repeatedly stated that he could not breathe.
"This is an independent autopsy requested by his family, paying special attention to the pressure on the lungs from the two knees on the back, which is as important as the pressure from the neck to cut off the airflow... According to the criminal complaint issued by the Hennepin County Prosecutor's Office, Shavin's knees kneeled on Freud's neck for a total of 8 minutes and 46 seconds. After Freud did not respond, he continued to kneel for 2 minutes and 53 seconds.
