Typhoon, Snelle, Nick & Simon and Nicky Romero, among others, are working together via De Tuin of 2020 and Het Strand of 2020 on alternatives to the summer festivals canceled due to the corona crisis. On different dates in July and August, up to a hundred visitors can attend live performances at a time.
Typhoon is one of the initiators of the concert series in unknown locations. "When I talk to myself, it took a while before the energy was back to look ahead," said the rapper. "But we can't wait to share the music with our fans again, within the limitations, but in love and full of energy. Although this requires some adjustments."
All artists, including Lil 'Kleine, Douwe Bob, Sam Feldt and Trijntje Oosterhuis, will perform three times a day. Tickets become available as soon as it is allowed to organize events with up to a hundred visitors.
As part of the corona measures, the cabinet has banned all major events such as music festivals until at least 1 September. So-called mass events with a rural appearance can actually only take place again if there is a vaccine, health minister Hugo de Jonge reported last month. Since 1 June, small-scale events with a maximum of thirty visitors are allowed again.
