Note that the department recommended testing all patients admitted to the medical institution for the presence of antibodies (IgM and IgG) to COVID-19 and new coronavirus infection (SARS-CoV-2) using registered rapid tests.

Among them: favipiravir, hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine, mefloquine, azithromycin (in combination with hydroxyloroquine), lopinavir plus ritonavir, interferon preparations, remdesivir, umifenovir.

The Avifavir drug (based on favipiravir) manufactured by the Russian Direct Investment Fund and HimRar, which is included in the list of recommendations, has proven its effectiveness in clinical trials and blocks the mechanisms of coronavirus reproduction. This was reported today at the RDIF.

“The first deliveries of the drug to Russian hospitals are expected on June 11, in total 60 thousand courses for the treatment of patients with coronavirus will be delivered this month. The data from the Avifavir clinical study confirm the high efficacy of the drug for treating coronavirus, ”the RFPI press service said.

However, as explained in the Ministry of Health, the drug based on favipiravir can only be used in a hospital under the supervision of doctors, and the instructions should include a warning about incomplete clinical data when registering the drug.
