What’s more wonderful than summer afternoon coffees, especially at the cottage?
However, when on vacation, you may not want to spend all your time in the kitchen. That's when fast-growing treats are needed.
Martta's book Martat's Cookbook - Get Excited and Succeed in the Kitchen (Gummerus), published last year, is the perfect pie recipe for summer coffee. Baking with the name Mother’s Milk Pie is so easy that failure to make it would be almost a skill.
In this guide, mix the ingredients in a bowl and spread the dough on a baking sheet. Any berries are spread on top of the dough. The cooking time is about 20 minutes and the wonderful summer treat is ready.
Mom's buttermilk pie
4 dl buttermilk
1 dl running margarine
3 dl sugar
3 dl wheat flour
2 dl graham flour
1.5 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
On the surface:
blueberries or other berries
Mix all ingredients together (except berries).
Spread the dough on baking paper on a baking sheet.
Sprinkle with berries.
Bake the pie in a 225 degree oven for about 20 minutes.
Serve with vanilla sugar-flavored whipped cream or vanilla sauce, for example.

Another very good guide is Kati Jaakonen's Mamma berry pie, which we write about the Hellapoliisi blog, which we talked about in April.
