Putin approved the foundations of state policy on nuclear deterrence

As follows from the document, the Russian Federation considers nuclear weapons as a means of deterrence, which is an extreme and necessary measure.

Nuclear deterrence is aimed at ensuring that the potential adversary understands the inevitability of retaliation in the event of aggression against Russia and its allies.

At the same time, nuclear deterrence is carried out continuously both in peacetime and during the period of threat of aggression and wartime until the start of the use of nuclear weapons.

Earlier, the Russian leader promised to continue to equip all types of troops with the latest types of weapons and equipment, including laser and hypersonic systems.
