  Luo Qin said on personal social media that the Philippine side proposed to suspend the "Visiting Force Agreement" for 6 months from June 1. After the expiration of 6 months, the Philippines has the right to choose to suspend the suspension for another 6 months. The decision to suspend the agreement was based on changes in the current regional situation and has been approved by Philippine President Duterte.

  The Philippines announced on February 11 this year that it would terminate its "visit force agreement" with the United States. The Visiting Forces Agreement is one of the important military agreements signed between the Philippines and the United States in 1998. The agreement stipulates the conditions, scope of activities, and facilities available for US military personnel, military personnel, and military equipment to enter the Philippines, including the content of military exercises held by both parties. According to the agreement between the two parties, if the agreement is to be terminated, either party shall notify the other party in writing through diplomatic channels, and the agreement shall automatically terminate after 180 days of notification.
