A paraglider crashed on Tuesday evening and died in a corn field just outside the town of Didam in Gelderland, the Gelderland police report.
Witnesses who saw the accident happened called 112, but when emergency services arrived, the pilot had already died. Nothing has been revealed about the identity of the deceased person.
The paraglider flew in a buggy, which was equipped with a small motor with a propeller. The purpose of paragliding, also known as screen flies, is to stay in the air for as long as possible.
The cause of the accident is still unclear. The Aviation Police Service is investigating the facts of the incident.
