“The legislator provided for the possibility of voting by mail. It’s good that this was done just in case, maybe sometime it will be useful somewhere, ”Pamfilova said.

According to her, after studying the experience of using voting by mail, including international, it was decided that it was "not yesterday, but the day before yesterday, a certain anachronism."

“Moreover, it is really very difficult to organize public monitoring and a lot of risks, a lot of contacts, and from the point of view of sanitary norms, a lot of risks,” added Pamfilova.

On May 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law providing for the possibility of voting in the elections remotely and by mail.

Earlier, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, said that all necessary measures would be taken so that there would be no risks to the health of citizens during the vote on amendments to the Constitution of Russia.

Pamfilova noted that the main priorities are the health and life of Russian citizens. According to her, the CEC "focused on this."
