A dramatic road accident occurred Monday evening on the RN12 connecting Rennes to Saint-Brieuc. At around 9:50 p.m., a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction struck a car traveling towards the north of Ille-et-Vilaine, near the Pleumeleuc interchange. The collision was very violent and claimed the life of a 48-year-old man. He is the driver of the small city car who was driving in the wrong direction.
In the other car, a teenager and his mother were seriously injured. The two victims had to be removed from the vehicle. The 14-year-old boy was helicoptered by the Samu to the South Hospital. Her mother, a 38-year-old woman, was transported to the CHU Ponthchaillou. Both were seriously injured.
