In the aftermath of the corona pandemic, several municipalities have begun to demand reviews of how the municipality has handled all work with connection to covid-19. One of them is Nyköping.

- Very good work is being done, while we see a situation that we have never been to before. Then it is important to be able to take a step back afterwards and look at the work that has been done to learn from what has happened, says Urban Granström (S), the chairman of the municipal council in Nyköping.

The review has to wait

The decision to conduct a review of Nyköping's handling of covid-19 was given green light by the municipal council during Monday's meeting. But so far, work on an in-depth review is still in the planning stage. According to Urban Granström, there are still many issues that still need to be discussed within the municipal management before an audit can start.

He also thinks that the focus should not shift from the municipality's ongoing work with covid-19.

- It is important to signal that we will do a review. But we are also in the middle of a pandemic. Then it is important to continue to focus on the work to prevent the spread of infection in the elderly care and see what we can do for our companies here and now, he says.
