These images were widely echoed on social media, as America experienced another day of protests after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25. Contrary to what many internet users claim, the man arrested by mistake is not an FBI agent.
In these images, filmed in 2019, we see a black man being arrested by two white American police officers. The man is finally released after the police realize that they have not arrested the suspect they are looking for.

The man "is not an FBI agent," police said in Rochester, Minnesota, a city about 140 km from Minneapolis, on Monday. The police did not specify the profession of the man. On social networks, he indicates that he worked as a paramedic.
The police said that the incident took place on June 1, 2019. According to the police, the two officers thought they recognized a man wanted for an arrest warrant for assault. They then approached the man in the video, thinking they recognized the suspect. The man, who was smoking on a sidewalk, refuses to give his identity to the police and protests his innocence, explaining their error to the police, as can be seen in a video posted on YouTube by l the man who filmed the incident.
The police handcuff him, while the man continues to tell them that they are mistaken. After seizing the man's wallet while he is still handcuffed, the police verify his identity and discover their error.
