The drama occurred during the night of Monday to Tuesday. At around 12:30 am, a man who was unloading goods at the Port du Rhin in Strasbourg fell into the water. More precisely rue du Bassin du Commerce.

The man, 56 years old, indicates in a report the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Bas-Rhin (SDIS 67), fell into the water from a boat during an unloading. His colleagues fished it out, even before the arrival of the SDIS 67 divers from Finkwiller. Unfortunately, the victim was on cardiopulmonary arrest. The emergency services, arrived on the spot, about twenty personnel, tried to revive the victim. In vain. The man was declared dead on the spot by the doctor.
