A new medical report, carried out at the request of the family of Adama Traorè, a 24-year-old black woman who died in 2016 during an arrest, attributes the death to an arrest technique used by the gendarmes. Sources informed about the case report this.

Traore's death, which became a symbol of police violence in France, has turned into a battle between legal experts who reject the responsibility of the gendarmes and those chosen by the family who reject their conclusions.

On July 19, 2016, Adama Traorè died in the Persan barracks, almost two hours after his arrest in his city of Beaumont sur Oise (Val d'Oise) after a chase and after escaping the first arrest on a hot day. The latest expert report, released on Friday, dismissed police responsibility by attributing death to "cardiogenic edema" linked to Adama Traorè's health.
