It was a delicate situation. The police were full of life-saving, talking to relatives and hearing witnesses. Then passers-by stood and filmed.

Viktor Adolphson, who became acquainted with the twitter account YB_Sodermalm, was upset when colleagues told about the incident. He tweeted about it during Tuesday night and the response has been great among the followers.

"Non-existent respect"

Since 2018, the law has been illegal infringement of privacy. It makes it illegal to distribute such images. But filming is still legal and the police can do nothing but try to talk to those who do - if time exists.

- There is so no respect for a person and their relatives. I usually ask the question: "Would you like someone close to you to be filmed in such a situation?". Anyone who is normally found would say no then. But it seems that you can't stop the reflex from tearing up the cellphone, says Viktor Adolphson.

He continues:

- I've been working as a police officer for 20 years, but this kind of makes me so damned. You encounter a lot of human ruthlessness but this ... you can't behave like this.

How often does this happen?

- I think it's more and more common nowadays. That the police are filming the police intervention, they do, and there may also be some good in it. When you think of the US and abuse being filmed. That's another thing. But in these cases it is so obvious to people that here lies a person who is in a very vulnerable position and then not because of a police intervention.

Gray zone in the team

When Adolphson has raised the issue, he is often told that it is the media's fault. Newspapers buy pictures, which encourages people to film. But in this case, the media cannot be blamed, he says. No media would ever buy images showing a dead body.

He himself wished the law could be further tightened to reach those filming.

- This is my personal view. But maybe we should also be able to hold on to filming people in vulnerable positions without spreading it. There is a gray area there.
